Your Privacy Matters

Film Notes is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your photography data stays on your device by default, under your complete control. We collect only minimal, anonymous analytics to improve the app, and we never sell your information.

When we introduce cloud features in the future, they will be optional and clearly explained, giving you full control over what data is stored in the cloud.

IMPORTANT: BY USING FILM NOTES, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS OF USE. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, DO NOT USE THE APP.

  1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Film Notes ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.


These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Sergio Rojas ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our").

  1. License grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:


  • Download and install the App on devices you own or control

  • Use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes

  • Access features and services provided through the App


This license does NOT grant you the right to:


  • Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App

  • Remove or modify any proprietary notices from the App

  • Use the App for any commercial purpose without our written consent

  • Distribute, sublicense, or transfer the App to any third party

  1. Film Notes Pro Subscription

3.1 Subscription Plans

Film Notes offers the following subscription plans:


  • Monthly Subscription: Billed monthly, renews automatically

  • Annual Subscription: Billed annually, renews automatically

  • 14-Day Free Trial: Available for first-time subscribers only

3.2 Payment and Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account

  • Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period

  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period

  • The cost of renewal will be the same as the original subscription price unless notified in advance


3.3 Free trial

  • First-time subscribers may be eligible for a 14-day free trial

  • You can cancel anytime during the trial period without being charged

  • If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription

  • Only one free trial per Apple ID

3.4 Subscription Benefits

Film Notes Pro includes:


  • Unlimited loaded film rolls (Free: 4 max)

  • Unlimited stored/completed rolls (Free: 10 max)

  • Unlimited camera and lens inventory (Free: 5 cameras, 10 lenses)

  • Unlimited shooting projects (Free: 1 max)

  • Exclusive Pro badges and achievements

  • Priority support

  • Future Pro features as they become available


3.5 Managing Your Subscription

You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal by:


  1. Opening Settings on your iOS device

  2. Selecting [Your Name] → Subscriptions

  3. Selecting Film Notes Pro

  4. Toggling off Auto-Renew


3.6 Cancelation & Refunds


  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period

  • No refunds for partial subscription periods

  • Refund requests for charges must be made to Apple, as all payments are processed through the App Store

  • Upon cancellation, you will retain access to Pro features until the end of the paid period


  1. User Accounts and Data

4.1 Data storage


  • Film Notes stores your data locally on your device by default

  • You are responsible for backing up your device and data

  • We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, loss, or theft

  • Future cloud sync features will be optional and subject to additional terms

4.2 User-Generated content

You retain all rights to the content you create and store in Film Notes, including:


  • Film roll logs and shot notes

  • Equipment inventory

  • Reference photos

  • Shooting project data


By using the App, you grant us a limited license to process and display your content solely for the purpose of providing App functionality.

4.3 Prohibited Use

You agree NOT to use the App to:


  • Store or transmit any unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable content

  • Violate any laws or regulations

  • Infringe on intellectual property rights of others

  • Transmit viruses, malware, or any harmful code

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems

  • Use the App to spam, phish, or engage in fraudulent activities

  • Impersonate any person or entity


  1. Privacy and Data Collection

Your privacy is important to us. Our data practices are governed by our Privacy Policy, available at:

By using the App, you also agree to our Privacy Policy. Key points include:


  • We collect minimal, anonymous analytics data

  • Your photography data is stored locally on your device

  • We do NOT sell or share your personal information

  • Location data is only used for lab finding and shot logging features

  • You control all permissions (camera, photos, location)


  1. Your Data Rights

Film Notes may integrate with third-party services, including:


  • Apple Maps - For lab finding and location services

  • Supabase Analytics - For anonymous usage analytics

  • StoreKit - For in-app purchases and subscriptions


Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies:



  1. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.


We make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:


  • Merchantability

  • Fitness for a particular purpose

  • Non-infringement

  • Accuracy or reliability of content

  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation

  • Security of data storage


You use the App at your own risk.


Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 2 years to help us improve the app. After 2 years, data is automatically deleted.

  1. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:


We shall NOT be liable for any:


  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages

  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use

  • Business interruption

  • Personal injury or property damage

  • Loss of photography data, notes, or references


Our total liability for any claims under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $50 USD if no subscription was purchased).



  1. Updates and Changes

9.1 App Updates

We may release updates to the App from time to time, which may include new features, bug fixes, performance improvements, and security patches. You are encouraged to keep the App updated to the latest version.


9.2 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Terms in the App. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice.


9.3 Changes to Subscription Pricing

We may change subscription prices from time to time. For existing subscribers:


  • Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance

  • New prices will apply to subsequent billing periods

  • You may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect


  1. Apple App Store Terms

Because Film Notes is distributed through the Apple App Store, you acknowledge and agree that:


  • Apple is not a party to these Terms

  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App

  • Apple is not responsible for the App or its content

  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or third parties related to the App

  • Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them


  1. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the Developer is located, without regard to conflict of law principles.


For users in the European Union, you also have the protections afforded by the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
